Peyton Manning ended his 18-year career, leading his team to victory with a 24-10 win over the Carolina Panthers in the 50th Super Bowl.

  1. December 21st, 2015 – Wrong contestant crowned at Miss Universe 2015

In a somewhat awkward series of events, host Steve Harvey of the Miss Universe Pageant 2015 wrongfully crowned Miss Colombia as the winner of Miss Universe. Just moments later, the crown was placed on the head of Miss Philippines, the original winner.

After revealing her new identity on the cover of the July issue of Vanity Fair magazine, former Olympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner officially became Caitlyn Jenner on September 25th.

  1. March 20th, 2016 – Obama lands in Cuba as first US president to visit in nearly a century

Obama became the first US president to touch down in Cuba since Calvin Coolidge in 1928, and since the revolution led by Fidel Castro in 1959.

“We need somebody that literally will take this country and make it great again. We can do that. So ladies and gentlemen, I am officially running for president of the United States,” Trump announced. He is still aiming for the Republican presidential nomination today.
