On behalf of the instrumental and vocal music departments at Apple Valley High School, we are proud to announce that the Minnesota Music Educators’ Association (MMEA) has named seventeen AVHS musicians to “All-State” ensembles for 2016-17.

Students submit recordings through a rigorous process in mid-March, attend All-State camps in August 2016 with other students from around the state, and then gather together again in February of 2017 to perform at the MMEA Midwinter Clinic in Minneapolis.

Seventeen is an incredible number of musicians from one school to be named to All-State; in fact, it is one short of the maximum allowed by MMEA. Apple Valley qualified the maximum 12 out of 12 instrumentalists and were one short of the max with 5 out of 6 vocalists this year.

Congratulations to all of the students and their parents, as well as AVHS instrumental music teachers Corey Desens and David Scalise, and AVHS vocal music teachers Joel Beyer and Bill Blatzheim.
