If you don’t live under a rock, you know that last weekend AVHS held its 2016 prom at International Market Square. It’s an event that gets many students, staff, and parents alike excited each year. For the guys attending, the day may have began with putting on a tux at 4:00; for many girls, the day began with getting their hair done at 12:00. But before the dance, most prom-goers come together to take photos– serious and not-so-serious.

During these sometimes hours-spanning photoshoots, it’s always helpful to have a friend who has your back and makes sure you slay in your pictures!

After pictures, students started lining up for the Grand March, which began admitting eager prom-goers at 5:30. After waiting an hour in line, the march finally began.

For many girls, as soon as the Grand March was over, it was hats [shoes] off!

Next was dinner catered by D’Amico, featuring fan-favorite noodle cakes after a hiatus at last year’s prom. Once everyone was stuffed, the real dance began!

After a long night filled with eating, dancing, yelling, sweating, and getting feet stepped on, prom-goers had a pleasant Mother’s Day Sunday to relax. For two AVHS students, relaxing= flying to Guatemala!

For most everyone else, Sunday (and Monday) provided a much needed rest from a night to remember. Let The Talon know your favorite prom memories in the comments!
