Senior Night Ends On A Sour Note

The Eagles’ defense setting up in the second inning.

On Friday, the Eagles played their final home game of the regular season against Lakeville North and celebrated senior night for their two seniors, catcher Jaycee Lentz and pitcher Rachel Niederkorn.

Lakeville got off to a quick start in the first inning, scoring after a leadoff walk, but the momentum was snuffed out by a fantastic diving catch by junior second baseman, Angela Dabu.

The Eagles’ offense had its best inning in the first, putting one run up on the board after two doubles by sophomore Sabriya Passmore and freshman Sydney Johnson.

The Eagles failed to score throughout the rest of the game as a result of the amazing pitching of Lakeville North. Apple Valley had two 1-2-3 innings and got only one runner on base in three others.

Lakeville used defense to their advantage and were able to put together a two run second inning, along with tacking on runs later in the fourth and sixth.

The Eagles play one more regular season game Wednesday at Prior Lake at 4:30p.m. before they begin section play.
