Men’s Soccer Team Plays at State Quarterfinals!
This past Wednesday, the AV men’s soccer team played the Stillwater Area High School Ponies in quarterfinals of the State Championship. It was an intense match and our eagles played at the top of their game, but ended up losing 2-0.
Both goals were scored during the last twenty minutes of the second half (with the one scored within the last two minutes), which speaks to how well the Eagles played. Their teamwork and improvement since the beginning of the year was obvious and showed how hard our Eagles have worked this season.
Several dozen Apple Valley students attended the game, riding a fan bus all the way to Chisago Lakes High School. These fans were proud to support the Eagles, standing for the entire game and cheering for their team. Our school band was also present and played the national anthem as well as a half time performance.
Congratulations to the entire team for an incredible season that ended at the state championship! A special shoutout to seniors Tarek Ahmed, Captain Grant Arnhold, Max Biggerstaff, Ryan Daggett, Ben Fisher, Captain Parker Jamison, Seth Miller, Justin Mutua, and Jake Schumacher for an amazing game and a fantastic season!
